Join the Scheme

If your company sells or leases micro heat or power generating systems for use in homes, community buildings or small businesses, we encourage you to join the REAL Assurance Scheme.

Before joining you should read the Consumer Code carefully, together with the company Bye-Laws. If you are happy that your company complies with the conditions they specify, and you are prepared to abide by the Code in all your dealings with consumers, you can apply to join.

You can either apply through the online application here. (Please not that you will not receive an automatic acknowledgement for your application.) Alternatively, you can download a hard-copy application form here, complete and sign it and send by post, fax or email to REAL Assurance Scheme as indicated on the form.

Once we receive your application, by any method, we will process it. This can take up to two weeks. We will then send you an invoice and a Direct Debit form. If, for some reason, you do not want to pay by Direct Debit, we also accept payment by credit card, cheque or BACS.

As soon as we have received your payment we will send you a Certificate of Membership which you should sign and display. At this point you will also be listed on the website.

Renewable Energy Association

REAIf you would also be interested in joining the Renewable Energy Association, our scheme sponsors, we have negotiated a special rate for REAL Assurance Scheme members with fewer than seven employees and an annual turnover of less than £500k. As part of your membership you will receive a weekly newsletter outlining all the latest renewable energy policy and commercial developments, reduced rate entry to a wide range training events and the chance to add your voice to the renewable energy policy-making process.  The REA is also a member of Construction Products Association (CPA). The CPA represents the UK’s manufacturers and suppliers of construction products, components and fittings. Membership brings considerable benefits, which costs non-REA member companies £1,625, but as an REA member you’ll get these for free!
